“It’s all about the lake.”

September 19, 2018

Dear members and friends of Lake Mishnock Preservation Association:

As many of you know, it costs a lot of money to keep Lake Mishnock healthy and reasonably free of invasive vegetation. Each year LMPA spends at least $5,000. Without yearly DEM-approved herbicide treatment, the lake would eventually become swamp. Invasive milfoil is the primary culprit. I’m sure many of you would be happy to help more with this expense if you could do it for “free.”

Well, if you are an Amazon customer you can. Really. Instead of placing your order on, place it on AmazonSmile.

What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support The Lake Mishnock Preservation Association every time you shop at Amazon at no cost to you.  You’ll find the exact same prices, and selection as at, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price (.5 percent) to The Lake Mishnock Preservation Association.

If you receive this communication as an email you can simple click on You will be prompted to log on to your Amazon account, and it will bring you directly to Amazon Smile for LMPA. After logging on for the first time, you will receive a welcome email and be reminded to shop only, if you want LMPA to receive the donation. The email also instructs you how to create a shortcut to the link on your phone or computer screen. The instructions are clear and simple.

If you have friends or relatives who care about the lake, please let them know about this simple way to make an automatic contribution to help save the lake.  Feel free to forward this email/letter. The lake needs your help and support. Thank you.
