Turtle disaster

At left is the trap after being removed from the lake. It is being  held by a DEM officer . Next are the turtles caught in the net. Last are floating turtles that didn't survive.  

"I was kayaking the lake this morning.  It was beautiful until I found this trap.  It contained 8  Eastern Painted turtles and 4 or 5 move floating nearby.   DEAD!

Someone had trapped them.  They were not able to get to the surface for air."
